Blood Twins

I've been agonizing between my two wind serpents for ages now, knowing I should just choose one instead of keeping both, especially since they're so similar in nature.

Shiki was my first vampiric wind serpent. The cold, pale skin...the blood red eyes...the fangs. Everything about the model screamed out vampire to me. His name means 'corpse demon' in Japanese, the title of an excellent vampire series. He was perfection.

Next came Satak, and after taming him I realized...it was the same. Though they had different mannerisms, the black skin with veined wing membranes invoked the vampire image once again.

Shiki was a demon in the true sense of the word. He was a ghastly, feral creature slaughtering victims for his fill of blood. Satak felt more aristocratic, more likely to connive and coax something to him under a false pretense of safety.

They each had a very distinct personality, yet nonetheless the similarity was there, and I felt like I was wasting a stable slot by having both.

I've come to realize...that's just how it has to be. These two are tied together now, they have a duality that I cannot possibly separate. Two sides of the same coin. There is no good and no bad, merely a choice between the better of two evils.

My blood twins are here to stay.
